The immediate vacancies are located in Waipahu to Aiea and Downtown.
Level II - $3,774 per month (SR-18, Step C)
Level III - $4,079 to $4,968 per month (SR-20, Step C to H)
Note: Some of the immediate vacancies may be for temporary employment. Employees appointed to temporary positions may also gain membership in the civil service upon satisfactory completion of an initial probation period of at least six months. Once you become a member of the civil service, you become eligible to apply for promotion and transfer opportunities to permanent as well as other temporary positions. You may also enjoy other rights and benefits afforded to an employee in a permanent position with the exception of return rights and placement rights associated with a reduction-in-force.

- Duties Summary
The Accountant II is an advanced trainee and performs a variety of assignments ranging from the simple to moderately difficult which do not require the services of a fully trained accountant, and performs other related duties as assigned.
The Accountant III independently performs professional accounting work; analyzes fiscal data; maintains and/or develops segments of accounting systems; and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants will be placed on the eligible list for ALL levels for which they are qualified.
Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects is required at both the Accountant II and III levels.
Accountant II - Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting at the university level.
Accountant III - One and one-half (1 1/2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting at the university level.
Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements may apply.
