The goal of the Medical-Surgical unit is to provide competent and safe care to patients admitted for surgical/medical and oncology services. The nursing practice at KMCPM will meet the national and community standards of care. Nursing care and care coordination encompasses all significant steps taken in the care of the patients and will be based on the nursing process which is professional and therapeutic.

The Ward Clerk coordinates activities at the nursing station and performs non-nursing and clerical functions on an intra and inter-departmental level.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent.

Preferred: Post high school vocational/specialized training. Medical terminology course. Medical office procedures course. Six months clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
