Description The primary duties of the Senior Transit Project Architect (STPA) are to perform architectural conceptual design, design development, and construction documents on multi-disciplined transit projects, some of which may require LEED certification. The STPA should have design and production experience with proven ability to prepare conceptual design, design development, and contract documents in Micro Station (preferred) and/or AutoCAD 2D formats. Hand sketching of concepts and details is highly desirable and competence using supporting graphics and 3D programs is required.
The STPA assists the Project Manager scheduling and leading design charrettes/work shops, client/design team coordination meetings and deliverables. The Transit Project Architect:
Coordinates the architectural design documents with other disciplines determining areas of conflict and resolution.
Schedules, participates and administers project QC plan.
Documents of applicable codes/standards compliance and participates in reviews and meetings with governing agencies.
Writes/edits architectural specifications and bid parameters.
Prepares material/quantity take-offs and assists in the preparation of construction cost estimates.
Prepares LEED Certification exhibits and uploads them on-line.
Prepares and coordinates other disciplines the writing of Addendums, RFIs, and Change Orders
Performs architectural construction administration as needed.

Requirements Masters or Bachelor of Architecture degree required.
10+ years of experience is preferred.
Registered Architect in HI is preferred.
MicroStation (preferable) and/or AutoCAD proficiency required.
Graphics/ 3D proficiency with Photoshop, SketchUp and/or 3D Max is required.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
