ARCADIS is seeking an experienced Environmental/Civil Engineer to join our Honolulu, HI office. Primary position responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Project and task management for a variety of small, medium and large size design and environmental projects. Prefer experience working on the Chevron portfolio or working with Chevron Environmental Management Company. Familiarity with behavior-based safety programs, and Chevron's EPDEP and STRATA Project Management programs is desired.
* Project management for environmental investigation and remediation projects including investigation of petroleum impacted soil and groundwater sites. Must be able to manage projects involving soil containment and remediation technologies such as soil vapor extraction and multi-phase extraction.
* Civil technical design projects focusing on landfill and site remediation designs, storm water management, earthwork, piping and pumping systems. Experience with design of wet-wells, pump stations, and wastewater treatment plants is desirable.
* Additional responsibilities include evaluating construction costs, developing rough estimates of cost, bid specification documents and evaluating and hiring contractors.

Technical responsibilities may include:
* Data collection and evaluation, hydrology analysis, evaluation of design precipitation events, hydraulic engineering, preparation of technical reports.
* Design of storm water runoff controls, including diversions, pipelines, and detention/retention basins. Design and analysis of hydraulic structures including spillways, penstock and conveyance pipelines, earthen dams, and outlet works.
* Demonstrated understanding of water resources in the western U.S., hydrometeorology, land surface/atmosphere interactions; runoff production mechanisms, river basin geomorphology, optimal channel networks; regional water balance; and evapotranspiration
* Demonstrated understanding of application of hydrologic analyses and design of storm water runoff controls for agricultural sites and energy production facilities.

Other responsibilities may include:
* Consulting and client interaction
* Coordination with other environmental staff
* Teaming with professionals from other disciplines to develop and implement multi-discipline solutions; and technical review of deliverables.

Basic and Required Qualifications:
* Minimum years of experience: 10 + managing civil or environmental projects
* Education required: BS in Engineering-Civil, Environmental or related field
* Registrations/Certifications required: PE
* Skills required: Previous use of HEC-HMS, CAD, and GIS required; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Excellent staff management, engineering analysis, proposal and bid preparation, organizational, project management, and scheduling skills are a must.

Additional and Preferred Qualifications:
* Education preferred: MS Engineering-Civil, Environmental or related field
* Registrations/Certifications preferred: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
* Years experience preferred: 15
* Skills preferred: Hydrology analysis, evaluation of design precipitation events, hydraulic engineering; Experience in implementing remedial designs from a construction management perspective is desired.

* This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible. Most travel is within the State of Hawaii.
* A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
* This position does manage others.
