* Pending authorization to fill. The successful candidate will be appointed as Chair upon the Dean s approval with continuation contingent upon annual satisfactory performance review.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain an active research program that complements the department and our unique location
2. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate courses
3. Contribute to other departmental activities as required

Minimum Qualifications

1. PhD in botany or related field from a college or university of recognized standing
2. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research
3. Possess a record of successful research support
4. Minimum of four years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of associate professor or equivalent
5. Evidence of increasing professional maturity
6. Attained significant recognition by the community of scholars in his/her discipline
7. Shown leadership skills and experience with academic administration

Desirable Qualifications

1. A minimum of four years at the rank of Professor.
