The Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project (HHCTCP) Office located in Honolulu, Hawaii has an opening for an Office Engineer II. This individual will be responsible for assisting the General Engineering Consultant (GEC) in providing document control processing and administration on the West O ahu Farrington Highway (WOFH) Design-Build contract, an approximate $500 million elevated transit guideway segment within the $5.3 billion Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project. Serving on the staff of the GEC, the selected candidate will report to GEC WOFH Lead Office Engineer. Responsibilities will include the following:
* Establish and maintain the document control system.
* Process design and construction documents; direct documents to appropriate resources for review and response using Contract Manager software. Documents include contractor s submittals, RFI s and Request for Changes as well as City/GEC comments/response to these submittals.
* Keep Lead Office Engineer apprised of progress and issues associated with documents and contract administration.
* Participate in meetings with Designer-Builder, outside agencies, and client, contributing in areas within purview. Generate meeting minutes when required.
* Draft correspondence for signature by others.
* Assist in back up information for Request for Changes, Change Orders, etc.
* Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
* Minimum of three years relevant experience.
* Ability to understand the technical and commercial aspects of documents processed.
* Construction management experience. Rail transit experience is a plus.
* Office engineering experience administering contracts and processing documents.
* Computer proficiency and knowledgeable in database systems. Experience using Oracle s Contract Manager software is a plus.
* Good communication and people skills.
* Team player.
