Other Conditions:

* To begin Spring 2012, renewable based on performance, eligibility, and funding; to work with the Tech Support IT Specialist at the College of Education's Technology and Distance Programs (TDP) to support faculty and staff in general computer troubleshooting, deployment and user consultation. Summer employment is available contingent on workload and availability of funds. Continuance is subject to satisfactory work performance and availability of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Under the supervision of the TDP Tech Support IT Specialist, assist in the configuration, maintenance and deployment of faculty and staff computers, lab computers and classroom AV.
2. Duties include: initial system deployment and troubleshooting of Mac and PC systems, printers and scanners; deployment and maintenance of PC/Mac/Linux labs; deployment and maintenance of classroom AV, including LCD projectors; and user consultation on hardware and software.
3. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Full-time graduate student in good standing (3.0 GPA in ICS or related degree program
2. Customer-service attitude
3. Competence in both Windows and Macintosh applications
4. Experience in management and troubleshooting of Mac OS X and Windows XP/7 systems
5. Strong written and oral communications skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Dependable, organized, and able to meet established deadlines

Desirable Qualifications

1. Experience mentoring or working with faculty and staff
2. Experience working in a higher education environment
3. Competence with system imaging
4. Experience with Linux systems
