Responsibilities

Maintain the availability and integrity of the Agency computing infrastructure. Design, integrate, and promote security features, products or procedures to ensure certification and accreditation. Assess and abate vulnerabilities, detect and deter intrusion and viruses. Review investigative processing of security incidents to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Develop or interpret computer security policies.

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

* Entry is with a high school diploma and 7 years of experience, or an Associate's degree and 5 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience, or a post-baccalaureate certificate and 2 years of experience, or a Master's degree.

* Degree must be in Computer Science (Information Systems, Computer Technology and IFSM degrees will not automatically qualify). If degree is in a related area (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics), it must contain appropriate qualifying college level courses to fulfill the Minimum Qualifications. Upper level classes include: Analysis of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Automata Theory and Formal Languages, Circuit Theory, Communications Engineering, Compiler Design/Theory, Computer Architectures, Computer Cryptography, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics, Computer Network Architecture and Protocols, Data Communications Networks, Database Design, Data Mining, Digital Communications, Digital Signals Processing, Discrete Structures, Dynamic Systems, Electrical Circuits and Systems, Machine learning, Network Security, Neural Networks, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Operating Systems Theory, Principles of VLSI Design, Programmable Logic Devices, Programming Languages Theory, Robotics, Signals and System Theory, Software Engineering, System Architecture, and Design, Systems Design and Programming. Also, Introductory courses in Computer Science, Circuit Design, Data Structures, Database Systems, Database administration, Database programming, Digital Design, Electrical Engineering, Microprocessors, Network Administration, Programming courses - any language, Scripting/Query Languages (such as Perl or SQL), System Administration, Web programming, and a foundational low-level class required for an upper-level course. OR one or more of the following types of experience:

* Experience which is clearly professional Computer Science practice that is commensurate with the college level coursework described above (e.g., network administration, database management, artificial intelligence).

* Degree in Information Systems Management or Information Assurance would be applicable, in addition to degree areas specified in CS Professional Standards.

* Experience with system administration, network administration, computer systems account management, equipment management, gathering technical information, information assurance, security problem reporting, policy interpretation, requirements analysis, quality assurance, systems monitoring, systems accreditation, basic cryptography.

* Must meet above requirements plus one of the following:

* A Master Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

* Additional experience which is clearly professional Computer Science practice that is related to the coursework described above (e.g., network administration, database management, artificial intelligence).

* Degree in Information Systems Management or Information Assurance would be applicable, in addition to degree areas specified in CS Professional Standards.

* Experience with system administration, network administration, computer systems account management, equipment management, gathering technical information, information assurance, security problem reporting, policy interpretation, requirements analysis, quality assurance, systems monitoring, systems accreditation, basic cryptography.

* Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) required within 6 months of hire.

* NET+, Security+, and Certification Accreditation Professional (CAP) are desirable.

* Technical instruction experience (i.e., experience teaching relevant content)

* Formal or informal technical leadership experience

Preferred Experience:

The selected individual must possess extensive knowledge of Information Assurance technology and principles. Possess an understanding of network architecture and technology.

Demonstrated ability to lead ISS personnel of various affiliations and ability to convey information to team members, the customer, and management is required.

The selected individual must possess exceptional written and verbal communications skills, briefing skills, and be able to work closely with a wide range of top-level DoD, NSA, TS, TD, and IAD program and technical managers. Have experience in National, DoD, and INFOSEC Regulations and Principles, Configuration Management policies, Firewall and IDS configuration, host security scanning, and requirements definition & analysis.

Experience in leading team members in development of organizational strategic goals and managing ongoing projects and activities.

Experience in counseling, feedback sessions, and one-on-one mentoring to assist employees in training and career development, including providing periodic and annual performance evaluations.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Salary Range $66,910 - $103,434
