Job: Clinical Nurse Specialist

Jobing Description

Performs in the role of clinical expert practitioner, educator, coordinator and consultant in the care of specialized or complex patients in a designated clinical area of practice. Provides planned ongoing educational development opportunities to all level of personnel in nursing service; coordinates educational events with Education Services Department. Assists Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs), Directors of Nursing, and Ambulatory Services in maintaining established governmental, legal, nursing practice and quality management standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

Masters Degree with current licensure to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii required. Masters in Nursing preferred. Masters Degree in Education with equivalent years of nursing experience in the clinical area and program development accepted. Specialty certification required, or must be scheduled to attain certification within six months. Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience in an acute care facility in the clinical specialty within the past five (5) years required. Healthcare Provider certification required, with retraining once every two years.
