Job Summary: Under limited supervision this employee posts payment information from BlueCard system to HMSA Claims History in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with the BlueCard program guidelines. In addition, this position is responsible for handling and tracking solicited and unsolicited refund checks and processing benefit expense check requests.. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Utilizes various databases and applications on various technical platforms to research claims history and validate payments. 2. Post to HMSA s claims history provider and member payments as needed. Perform cross-match on our various systems based on services rendered and provider information to establish appropriate specialty-based provider number. Use this information to post provider payment information to HMSA s claims history. 3. Conduct claim by claim review and related activities to balance paid claim data between multiple systems. Also, initiate, track, research and take required action on checks received from BCBS Plans, members and provider. Facilitate check tracers, disbursement of payments and review of interest payments as needed with Finance and Accounting and Underwriting. 4. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Associate s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience. 2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Access). 3. Must have good analytical problem solving and basic math skills. 4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
