Duties and Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with researchers, specialists extension agents and the landscape industry to plan, coordinate, deliver an integrated statewide educational and extension program related to the turfgrass and landscape industry.
2. Conduct research program on pest management, environmental stress, and the assessment of environmental impacts of pesticides, fertilizers, cultural and management practices on turfgrass and in the landscape supported with extramural funding.
3. Contribute to the departmental graduate and undergraduate programs by teaching courses such as but not limited to Turfgrass and Landscape Pest Management, graduate seminars, and other courses that compliment the department curriculum.
4. Develop and coordinate a distance golf course management program.
5. Provide service to the college, university and community.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Earned doctorate in a plant science or related biological science.
2. Experience in turfgrass or landscape pest management, as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
3. Experience in university instruction, as evidenced by evaluations from previous courses taught.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Experience in the development and implementation of research program.
2. Demonstrated success in obtaining extramural funding.
3. Post-doctoral research experience in turfgrass or landscape pest management.
