Duties and Responsibilities

1. The faculty member will teach and coordinate the Basic Design curriculum within
2. the School. The faculty member will be charged with the development of an effective
3. and apt pedagogy for introductory design within the emerging interdisciplinary
4. curriculum of the DArch program, a challenging context that can foster an expansive understanding of design linked to inclusive and critical studies yet able to also address
5. basic design issues of conceptual acuity, perceptual attunement, ordering systems
6. for form, space, tectonics and appropriate methods to communicate fundamental
7. aspects of design. The faculty member will be expected to pursue research or creative
8. activity to reinforce the teaching philosophy. Additional expectations are collaborative
9. work with faculty to develop the curriculum, supervision of graduate students and
10. participation in departmental, university, and professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications

1. An accredited professional degree in architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, and/or professional license or working towards licensor, PhD degree (or equivalent) in an area of specialization or related field.
