Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor or Instructor of Mathematics
JOB SUMMARY:
In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level, duties include student advisement and committee service for the Department, the College of Natural and Computational Sciences, and the University. It is expected that a successful candidate will teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in their area of expertise, and participate in the curriculum development process. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. The Department has about 19 full-time faculty, and approximately 30 part-time faculty.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or MA/MS in Mathematics, Statistics, or allied field (such as Engineering, Science, or Computer Science) with a background in mathematics.
Desired Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics with a background in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or Business Mathematics.
- Potential for scholarly activity and for effective teaching using a variety of methodologies.
-Proficiency in oral and written communication.
Doctorate at the time of appointment from an accredited university. We are looking for a candidate who is interested in curriculum development for the Department's Applied Mathematics and Statistics programs at both the graduate and undergraduate level and in working with other departments to develop interdisciplinary courses and/or programs.
