Job: Assist/Assoc Professor Environmental Design Public Health Focus (Architecture )

Duties and Responsibilities

1. The faculty member will have teaching and research responsibilities in the School of
2. Architecture and also the Office of Public Health Studies.
3. Duties in the School of
4. Architecture will include advising within design studios and teaching required lecture
5. and elective courses.
6. The faculty member will teach in Architecture with an emphasis
7. on human behavior, collaboration, accessibility, sustainability, site design, community
8. and social responsibility.
9. Other duties include teaching required and/or elective courses
10. in the Office of Public Health Studies. (Scope to be determined by the Office of Public
11. Health Studies.)
12. Additional expectations are supervision of graduate students and participation in departmental, university, and professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications

1. An accredited professional degree in
2. architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, and/or b) distinctive practice record with
3. a professional license or expectation to be licensed; and/or c) PhD degree (or equivalent)
4. in an area of specialization underpinned by a significant record of research and publication.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Preferred candidate will have a professional degree in Architecture or Engineering
2. from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalent with a license to practice
3. (or in progress).
4. Expected is a demonstrated ability to integrate technological issues
5. within design studio teaching. Proficiency in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
6. structural design, systems logic, architectural technology, environmental technology
