AIR CONDITION MECHANIC

KANEOHE, HAWAII

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Respond to work orders that identify air conditioning problems in barracks and other locations throughout MCB Hawaii.

Read/understand wiring diagrams to successfully diagnose and repair controls

Responding to problems with energy saving SmartStat programmable thermostats, window, and door sensors relating to air conditioning malfunctions.

Diagnostics will include problems with window and door sensors, variable air volume boxes and related air conditioning components. .

Repairs will be made on site wherever possible or contractor will order parts and equipment as needed to minimize down-time.

Provide recommendations and statements of work for in-house or external execution.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Basic knowledge of refrigeration principles and experience in understanding wiring diagrams, blueprints, sketches, and charts;

Must be proficient in repairing controls, sensors and other air conditioning components.

Must become proficient in the use of our enterprise asset management system (Maximo) as well as some knowledge of MS Office software including Excel and Word, etc. .

Must be respirator qualified/certified prior to beginning work.

Must have proof of Lock Out Tag Out LOTO training.
